MJC Faculty Recital
The MJC Music Faculty Recital is a benefit for MJC music student scholarships.
The concert program includes a performance by organist, Steven Grubb. Faculty members David Chapman, Michael Silva and Travis Silvers, and MJC graduate Mark Davila will play a guitar quartet by Carlo Domeniconi. Professor Chapman is also performing “Three Spanish Pieces” by Emilio Pujol. David Dow’s performance of his original work “Vortex” on wind controller also features video and a soundtrack. Faculty members Anne Martin, viola, and Robert Scott, clarinet, join six guest performers in playing Franz Schubert’s “Octet in F major, D. 803.” Professors Dow, piano, Anne Martin, violin, and Erik Maki, electric bass, are winding-up the program with the gypsy piece, “Zsebkendom Negy Sarka.”
Tickets are $12 general admission and $10 for students and seniors (62 and better). Advance tickets are available online at www.mjc.tix.com or at the Auditorium Box Office which is open Tuesday through Friday, from 12 noon to 5 p.m., or by calling (209) 575-6776 during Box Office hours. Tickets are also available at the Music Recital Hall beginning 90 minutes prior to the concert.
